USU Art Museum Director Receives Award
LOGAN – The Higher Educator of the Year Award was presented to Utah State University executive museum director, Victoria Berry, of the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art.  The award was given by the Utah Art Education Association (UAEA).
“I’m simply honored to receive this award. I believe this is a testament to how valid and vital our K-12 education program is in this region,” said Berry.
“We are so proud of Victoria and the recognition she has brought to the college. The Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art is extraordinary and greatly adds to the prestige of the school.  Victoria was deemed as the most qualified nominee to receive the highest honor for the higher educators of art in Utah,” said Craig Jessop, Caine College of the Arts Dean.
Berry oversees the K-12 education program at the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art, located on the Utah State University campus, which accommodates approximately 4,000 students per year.
“The most important aspect of the art education program is when the students are in the museum they aren’t living in a virtual world. They have the opportunity to experience art projects hands-on, which is a significant component of what Utah State art is really about,” said Berry.
Berry will be recognized for receiving her award at the UAEA Annual Conference in St. George, Utah, on Feb. 24-26, 2011. The Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art is the central location for the exhibition of visual arts in Northern Utah. Along with its permanent collection, the museum features rotating exhibits running from six to eight weeks at a time. The museum is located at 650 North 1100 East in Logan.

To: Megan Darrington

From: Rachelle Champlin

Subject: Online Reputation

After researching you online I have found that you are involved in many extracurricular activities and have many interests.

On your Facebook, I learned that you love to play sports and love to shop. You also say that you enjoy hanging out with your friends and family. According to you, others would agree that you like to talk a lot. I also found out on Facebook that you are involved in ASUSU and have had various positions such as Athletes and Campus Recreation VP, HURD president, and the Service Center’s Programming Director. It says that you have also been the Tradition’s Chair for the Student Alumni Association and have planned a Homecoming Parade and True Aggie Nights. I now know that your next job will be the Service Chair for ASUSU Athletics. You say that you have a passion for service and eventually want to start a non-profit organization.

I also learned on Facebook that you love Christmas music so much that you could listen to it all year long. You don’t really like country, but have grown to tolerate it. Your favorite TV shows are Gilmore Girls, Friends, Survivor, The Office and Amazing Race. You say you want to be on the Amazing Race with your dad after you graduate. Your favorite movie is Runaway Bride and you also love National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Your favorite book at this point is “Leaving Microsoft to Change the World” by John Wood.

I also learned that you were born on September 19, 1987 and your hometown is Sandy, South Carolina. You graduated from Jordan High in 2006 and will graduate from Utah State in 2010. On Facebook you said that you work as a server part-time at Olive Garden and have worked there since May 2009. You also say that you're only five foot tall but loud. According to a quiz you've taken you have a red personality. You are also a fan of two sororities and appear to be a member of Kappa Delta. You have 684 friends on Facebook along with 11 videos of you where in one you did the Polar Plunge at 11 o'clock at night for charity. There are also 577 pictures of you including this one that is your profile picture:

On Aggie Town Square and CacheValleyDaily.com, I read that you were part of a home renovation project in Logan as the ASUSU athletics committee Service Chair along with other USU students. I also read in another article on Aggie Town Square that you were a sponsorship director for the PRSSA Mountain West Regional Conference this past March. I also found an article on DVDTalk.com about how you were a coordinator for “root” beer pong at USU in the past.

On your blog, “Journalism Pieces”, I learned that you are double majoring in Public Relations and Speech Communication with a minor in Sociology. You are also the oldest in your family and your motto in life is, “You only have one cup of life so fill it to the brim.”

Overall, you have a great resume of experience because of what you are involved in and have definitely lived up to your motto in life so far.

Burger Planet

Supports Healthy, Active Lifestyles

As a company, Burger Planet, supports its customers in choosing to be healthier by eating Burger Planet’s healthy menu options. According to an article published on Ezine Articles, The growing trend in living green is that people want healthy fast food chains.” In recent years, fast food chains all over the country have added healthier food options to their menus to accommodate their consumer’s needs. Burger Planet’s team has recently added gourmet salads, fruit packages, white meat chicken breasts, and “bunless” burger options to become a healthy fast food chain.

Burger Planet’s goal is to have people of all ages eat Burger Planet food but is concerned that women ages 30 to 40 have stopped eating it. According to a study conducted by the American Journal of Public Health, higher income women ages 35 to 40 are less likely to eat fast food than men because of their concern for health. This group of women are only eating about 1.5 fast food meals per week. These women are concerned that they will gain excess weight by eating fast food, which does happen in some cases. However, Burger Planet is hiring fitness guru, Jayne Petersen, who emphasizes moderation, as their spokesperson. Petersen says, “Women can have a burger and fries now and then as long as they are active and also try some of Burger Planet's exciting new menu choices, such as the fruit packages."

In February 2010, Burger Planet is going to issue a press release about its healthy menu options and the hire of Jayne Petersen, which will hopefully draw middle-aged women to Burger Planet. Burger Planet also wants to increase its revenues up ten percent by December 2010 after the campaign with Jayne Petersen has ended.
